Financial Budget Analysis with python
This project is all about the analysis of the financial budget, 2021. It comprises of an in depth analysis of the funds allocated and the Departments/Ministry’s associated. There are three main libraries that’ve been used here- pandas, numpy and matplotlib. Pandas has been used to clean the dataset and remove the null values from it, numpy has been used to create differences in the funds with respect to numerical arrays and matplotlib is used for visualizing the dataset.
To begin, we need to first import the necessary libraries with the dataset from GitHub.
Once the libraries and the dataset has been extracted we can now use the dataset, for further analysis and to gain the necessary output information. To check whether the information that we’ve extracted is fine and accurate or not, we’ll begin with checking the first five rows of the dataset and to do that, we’ll be using the .head() command.
Once the values are clear, we can now print the dataset to check the values and if there are any null values or not. Once, i.e. done we can now see that there are a few null values and to rectify that we can use the .dropna() command to remove all the null values.
We can now see that the dataset is clean and now we can observe the dataset and it is seen that not all the departments are mentioned as important and only a few are observed to be the important one’s. To consider the important one and to differentiate the non-important one’s we can categorize them as ‘OTHERS’ and then visualize the important one for further analysis.
Once the datasets have been categorized as with the important values, we can now work on visualizing it for an in depth analysis. We’ll be using matplotlib for that purpose and naming the x axis as the Department / Ministry and the y axis as the Funds allotted, thereby keeping the size of the bar chart as 13/7 cms.
The bar chart shows that the Ministry of finance has the highest allotted budget in the financial budget of 2021, now to get a clear view of the funds allotted we can measure them by visualizing it in a donut chart with percentage values for representation.
This project helps us in gaining department wise understanding of the allotted funds and gives a clear view for proper analysis and for an efficient understanding rather than working and distributing the numerical factors manually.
